A LITTLE ABOUT US...

We Are Creative Women Having Loads of FUN!

We are two passionate women artists with a love for exploring the world. We believe that travel is a unique catalyst for creativity, inspiring us in ways nothing else can. Immersing ourselves in diverse landscapes, cuisines, and cultures ignites our imaginations—and the heart of it all is the incredible community we build. Our retreats foster a spirit of inclusion, acceptance, creativity, and growth. Add a generous dash of joy and curiosity, and you have the essence of a Wild Hair Art Retreat!

Are you tired of traipsing around a new and gorgeous place with a big group of people behind a guide that drones on about things you don't really care about?

Or wandering into store after store with the group of women you travel with when what you really want to do is wander into that field or ruin or museum?

Are you ready to try something different? Something that suits your innate curiosity and fuels your creativity?

We guide small groups of women to inspiring destinations, following our curiosity, fostering creativity and a strong sense of community.

LAURA MCRAE HITCHCOCK

“I feel like I am living my dream come true! Travel gets me out of my routine and fills me with inspiration. Sharing that shot of creativity, that feeling of inspiration bubbling up and popping into clarity and doing that in a new place with others, is what really makes my heart sing."

Laura lives and works in the foothills of the Great Smokey Mountains. She works in a variety of media, including painting, mixed media and land art. She is deeply interested in sacred sites in the landscape and the mystical legends that surround them. She has taught workshops for over 25 years and loves helping others find their creative spark.

PAM GOODE

There’s something about being completely separated from your usual surroundings and everyday tasks that opens your mind and spirit. I see everything differently, feel everything differently, and experience such a tremendous opportunity to release myself from the person I think I am."

Pam lives and works in Charlotte, North Carolina and has traveled the world extensively. She is a writer, mosaic artist, and gallery owner. She has taught mosaic workshops for over 20 years. Her book, Touch of Fire, is available through Amazon.

3 years ago a new friend took a chance and invited me to join her at an artists’ retreat on Pawleys Island. I took a chance and went. On arrival, I entered this big, beautiful house filled with bold, beautiful women, many of whom had known each other for years. It took no time to be enveloped in the camaraderie! Days were filled with creative inspiration, shared wisdom, and demonstration while communal meals, beach walks, and porch chats added another dimension. I left that week feeling motivated in my art and awed by the instant friendships I found. Pawley’s is a special place and Wild Hair ladies are a special breed. Do yourself a favor and join them…you won’t be disappointed!
